Mastering Subjects with Expert Teachers

Top educators bring the independent school experience online.

In our classes, learning is personal. Academic Program teachers know that the foundation for good learning is a trusting relationship between teachers and their students. That’s why they intentionally design their courses to foster connection, collaboration, and creativity. Teachers directly engage with students through messaging, face-to-face video calls, and class assignments, building that strong foundation for student success.

The Academic Program features teachers who are experts both in their fields and in online teaching. Continuous professional development keeps One Schoolhouse teachers up-to-date on the latest research and tools, and how to bring those connections and conversations online—creating courses where students feel challenged to be their best and everyone belongs.

Prioritizing Learning, Not Seat Time

Manage time in the way that works for you.

We’re driven by the belief that schooling should be organized around how students grow. In Academic Program courses, learning is measured through your demonstrated mastery, and not just by how long  you spend on a task. Our courses are asynchronous and cohort-paced, meaning there’s no set class time, so you get to choose when in the week to complete your work. Weekly due dates in the course, however, keep you and your classmates at the same pace, so it’s easy to confer and collaborate. When we increase flexibility, students can do more of what matters most.
